The Memphis Tigers square off with the Indiana State Sycamores in the Las Vegas Invitational.
The Memphis Tigers lost some scoring punch to graduation and will be leaning hard on their defense to pick up the slack. However the defense was nowhere to be found in a 71-47 loss to Baylor in the Las Vegas Invitational on Thanksgiving. The Bears roared back from a three point deficit with a 42-15 second half run as they managed 14 more shots with 16 offensive boards and 14 turnovers to 43% shooting look golden compared to the Tigers 34% accuracy. RaShawn Powell was the Tigers only double digit scorer with 13 points on 4-10 shooting in 27 minutes. Austin Nichols followed with nine points and six boards with Avery Woodson chipping in with eight points.

The Indiana State Sycamores are hoping to crack the top four in the Missouri Valley but after seeing their performance in an 88-62 defeat at the hands of Illinois in the Las Vegas Invitational. The Fighting Illini jumped to a 21 point lead after 20 minutes and held the Sycamores at bay the rest of the way. Illinois didn't shoot the ball all that well at 42% but 20 giveaways from the Sycamores resulted in 16 more looks at the basket for the Illini which made Indiana State's 36% fall well short. The Sycamores received 17 points from Grant Prusator who connected on 5-10 from the field including a 4-7 mark from the perimeter. Brenton Scott added another ten points with Tre Bennett chipping in with nine points.
The under is 9-2 in Memphis last 11 neutral site games while Memphis are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Fri. games. For Indiana Stata the over is 6-1-1 in INST last 8 overall while the Sycamores are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall with the under going 7-3 in INST last 10 neutral site games. It's tough to say what the future holds for Memphis with the lost production at the offensive end of the floor. The Sycamores are going to have to beef up their scoring and defense if they expect to challenge in the MVC but the bottom line is neither team has looked great and I don't like backing either here...
