The Boise State Broncos will travel to PNC Arena to take on the NC State Wolfpack this Friday night.
The Boise State Broncos rebounded nicely after a tough 78-54 loss to Wisconsin with an 86-75 victory over the Idaho Vandals this past Tuesday. In the recent victory, Derrick Marks had a huge game scoring 31 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. Nick Duncan (15 points) and Anthony Drmic (14 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast) also had strong games for the Broncos. The Broncos just missed out of the NCAA tournament last year however, both Derrick Marks and Anthony Drmic give Head Coach Leon Rice experienced leaders who know how to score the ball. Boise State is a fun team to watch as they are not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere at any time, however, if the Broncos plan to make a run at the NCAA tournament this year, they’ll need to improve on the defensive end. Currently the Broncos rank 288th in the country in points allowed at 72.8 ppg and are ranked just 294th in total rebounds at just 31.4 rpg.

The NC State Wolfpack come into this game a perfect 5-0 after an 84-72 victory over the Richmond Spiders this past Wednesday. Although the Wolfpack have lost their offensive leader in Ty Warren (24.9 ppg, 7.1 rpg), the Wolfpack are finding ways to score the ball as they are currently ranked 38th in points per game at 80.0 and are controlling the boards as they rank 5th in the country at 46.8 rpg. Leading the way for the Wolfpack in their recent victory was Trevor Lacey who had a nice overall game with 26 points, 6 reb, 5 ast and Ralston Turner who has 23 points (8-12 FG) and 6 reb. Supporting both Lacey and Turner this season has been Anthony Barber (13.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.8 apg) and Kyle Washington (6.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg). So far on the season, the Wolfpack has also been getting it done on the defensive side of the ball as there are only giving up an average of 60.4 points per game (ranked 83rd) and almost lead the nation in blocks per game at 7.8 (ranked 6th).
The Broncos are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Friday games however, are just 19-43 ATS in their last 62 games following an ATS loss. The Wolfpack are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS win while 7-2-1 in their last 10 games overall.
Boise State is a fun team to watch on the offensive side and if they are on, they are a tough team to beat. Although Boise State has the potential to go off on the offensive end on any given night, their defensive isn’t good and I think that the size and rebounding that NC State will bring into game will be too much for Boise State to overcome. I’m going to take the Wolfpack to cover the spread.
