The James Madison Dukes and Ohio State Buckeyes play Friday afternoon at the Value City Arena.
The James Madison Dukes have won four straight games and will play their first true road contest. On the season, James Madison is averaging 72.6 points on 47.9 percent shooting and is allowing 70.6 points on 44.8 percent shooting. Jackson Kent leads James Madison with 15.2 points and four rebounds while Ron Curry is averaging 11 points and five assists. Yohanny Dalembert is shooting 62.5 percent from the field and Tom Vodanovich is the fourth player to average double-digit points. Andre Nation is also expected to play after serving his suspension. The James Madison Dukes are off to a great offensive start, including shooting 76.2 percent from the free throw line and 42 percent from deep. James Madison now has to tweak its defense to take that next step in the CAA.
USA TODAY Sports
The Ohio State Buckeyes are off to a 4-0 start and playing great ball at both ends of the floor. Ohio State is averaging 90.8 points on 60.8 percent shooting and is allowing 57.5 points on 36.9 percent shooting. D'Angelo Russell leads OSU with 19 points and 5.5 assists while Marc Loving is averaging 13 points on 64 percent shooting. Sam Thompson is the third OSU player to average double-digit points and Shannon Scott is dishing out 11.5 assists. The Ohio State Buckeyes still need to get that marquee win, but they’re off to a terrific start and seem to be deeper than they were last season. Of course, Ohio State’s bread and butter remains its defense that’s averaging nearly eight steals per game.
The Dukes are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games and 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Buckeyes are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
I like what the Ohio State Buckeyes are doing right now and this is one of the best teams they've had in a while. Can you say blowout?
