The Xavier Musketeers and the UTEP Miners face off on Friday in the Titan Gym in a semi final matchup of the Wooden Classic college basketball tournament.
The Xavier Musketeers moved to 5-0 for the season beating San Diego on Friday by 11 points. Xavier led by eight points at the half and extended to 11 points by the time the final buzzer sounded. XU shot 58 percent from the floor including 50 percent from beyond the three-point arc while hitting 66.7 percent of their free throws chances. Trevon Bluett led the Musketeers with 17 points. Matt Stainbrook had 14 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, J.P. Macura had 11 points, Remy Abel had 10 points, and James Farr had 10 rebounds. Xavier dominated the boards outrebounding San Diego by a nearly 2 to 1 margin 30-16.

The UTEP Miners moved to 3-0 on the season and advanced to this game by downing Princeton on Thursday 62-56. UTEP had a three point lead and extended by another three points in the second half to seal the win. The Miners shot 45.7 percent from the floor including 50 percent from beyond the three point arc and they converted on 65 percent of their free throws. Vince Hunter ad 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead UTEP. Cedrick Lang had 13 points and 10 rebounds, C.J. Cooper had 10 points, and mega Harris had nine points. UEP outrebounded Princeton 33-25 and held them to 36.5 percent shooting.
Xavier is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, 7-0 against the spread against Conference USA, and 20-8 against the spread in their last 28 non-conference games. UTEP is 14-5 against the spread in their last 19 non-conference games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six games, and 0-4 against the spread following a win.
