The Illinois-Chicago Flames go on the road to take the floor with A-10 power the Dayton Flyers.
The Illinois-Chicago Flames aren't given much of a chance in the Horizon and probably need everything to go their way to escape the bottom half of the conference. The Flames have been struggling at both ends of the floor before their offense suddenly came to life in an 87-76 victory over St. Xavier to improve their record to 2-4. UIC jumped to 14 point lead at the break and held the Cougars at arm's length the rest of the way. With both teams sinking shots in the 43% range this game was decided at the line where the Flames turned 29 fouls in to 24-13 edge. Jake Weigand was top gun with a game high 20 points and 12 rebounds with Jay Harris tossing in 16 points followed by Tai Odiase with eleven point and ten rebounds.

The Dayton Flyers are picked as one of the top squads in the Atlantic Ten and are out to build some momentum heading in to their conference slate. The Flyers improved to 3-1 with a 65-53 decision over Boston College. UD didn't burn down the nets at 42.6% shooting but holding the Eagles to 34% and just 2-21 from long range made this a double digit victory. The Flyers received a contest best 20 point performance from Jordan Sibert followed by Dyshawn Pierre tossed in 16 points and snagging six boards while Devon Scott and Kendall Pollard scored ten and eight points respectively with Scott pulling down six rebounds. The Flyers ran an eight man rotation but two did not score.
Illinois-Chicago can sometimes be a good bet because they are usually big underdogs and have done reasonably well enough to at least cover the spread so many gamblers love this team. Dayton always seems like a team that can beat anybody at any place and sometimes do and is certainly not a team to ignore. The Flyers could easily win by 30 and I wouldn't be surprised but for now I'll back the huge road chalk but to be perfectly honest I don't see a great opportunity in backing either team...
