The Line: Harvard Crimson -7.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Massachusetts Minutemen and Harvard Crimson play Saturday at the Lavietes Pavilion.

The Massachusetts Minutemen will play already their seventh game and first true road contest. On the season, Massachusetts is averaging 77.5 points on 45.5 percent shooting and is allowing 70.2 points on 43.2 percent shooting. Cady Lalanne leads UMass with 15.2 points and 9.5 rebounds while Derrick Gordon is averaging 13.8 points on 42.3 percent shooting. Maxie Esho is grabbing 6.7 rebounds and Trey Davis is averaging 11 points. Like last season, the Massachusetts Minutemen remain that explosive offensive team that can score in truckloads despite shooting just 27.3 percent from beyond the arc. UMass remains one of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 as long as the defense holds up after allowing so many possessions due to scoring quickly.

Harvard vs. Massachusetts - 11/29/14 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

This is just the fifth game for the Harvard Crimson, a team that’s off to a 4-1 start. On the season, Harvard is averaging 70.7 points on 50 percent shooting and is allowing 56.7 points on 36.5 percent shooting. Wesley Saunders leads Harvard with 20.5 points and 8.8 rebounds while Steve Moundou-Missi is averaging 11 points and 7.3 rebounds. Jonah Travis is shooting 66.7 percent from the field and Siyani Chambers is averaging five assists per game. The Harvard Crimson have one the best shooting percentages in the country and is playing top 25 defense as well. Harvard is a smart basketball team that doesn’t make many mistakes on either side of the ball but must limit the 16 turnovers its averaging per game, as it will catch up once the schedule strength increases.

The Minutemen are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. Ivy League. The Crimson are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 non-conference games and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games overall.

UMass is atheltic and explosivness enough to win this game outright. This should be a hell of a game and the only bet I see is taking the Minutemen and the points.
