The Line: Seton Hall Pirates -3.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The George Washington Colonials take the hardwood with the Seton Hall Pirates in Wednesday action.
The George Washington Colonials are off to a solid start recordwise but one could argue that the schedule has been less then tough. The Colonials are predicted to be a factor in the Atlantic Ten and are 3-1 after knocking off Longwood by a 91-66 count in what I call a stat padder. The Colonials 'only' led by eleven at the half before pulling away as the fired away at 51.8% with a 27-11 advantage at the charity stripe doing the 44.6% Lancers in. George Washington simply had too much offensive firepower with five double digit scorers with John Kopriva pumping in 19 points and snagging six yanks with Kevin Larsen next in line with 16 points. Patricio Garino followed with 12 points and nine boards while Nick Griffin and Kethan Savage adding eleven points each.

The Seton Hall Pirates are predicted to be a middle of the row team in the Big East but they have looked better then that in the early going. The Pirates upped their record to 4-0 after knocking off Illinois State 84-80. The Hall have shown the ability to defend thus far but against the Redbirds it was their offense that led the way 51% marksmanship including 12-18 from beyond the arc although 20 turovers gave the 42% shooting Redbirds 21 more shots and a chance to win a game that shouldn't have been close. Sterling Gibbs was a man among boys with 40 points with seven bombs with Isaiah Whitehead tossing in 18 points and handing out six assists followed by Jaren Sina with and eleven point performance.
George Washington are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big East and the under is 20-8 in GW last 28 non-conference games. For Seton Hall the under is 7-3-1 in HALL last 11 vs. Atlantic 10 while Seton Hall are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 vs. Atlantic 10. I can see reasons to back either side although in the past George Washington just hasn't gotten the job done consistently. At this point I'm not sure which is the better squad but for now I'll take the points and watch...
