The Line: Murray State Racers -9 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Murray State Racers take the floor with the Drake Bulldogs for the first ever meeting between these clubs.
The Murray State Racers are penciled in as the top team in their division of the Ohio Valley but they have not looked good in the early going and it's certainly too soon to look to far ahead to conference play. The Racers fell to 2-3 with a 64-61 defeat at the hands of the Portland Pilots where they where outshot 45%-42.6% but stayed close throughout except at the charity stripe where Portland sank seven more free throws. Cameron Payne led the Racers offense with 18 points and five helpers with TJ Sapp tossing in 13 points followed by an eleven point performance from Jeffery Moss. An 8-13 effort at the foul line was a killer in a three point contest.

Some teams have problems scoring the basketball and some struggle to keep opponents off the scoreboard and some have problems doing both. The Drake Bulldogs are one of the latter which is why they are looking at a 1-5 record after a 71-59 defeat to Portland on Friday. The Bulldogs fell behind by 16 heading to the locker room and were never able to recover. Both teams sank half their looks but the Pilots sank more free throws and through better offensive rebounds and more forced turnovers the Pilots mustered seven more shots and a few more field goals. The Bulldogs received a game high 23 points on 9-12 shooting including a 5-6 mark on threes. Jordan Daniels contributed 12 points off the bench but no other player scored more then six points.
The under is 15-5 in Murray State's last 20 neutral site games. For Drake the Bulldogs are 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games overall while the under is 20-8 in DRKE last 28 neutral site games. I believe the Racers have plenty of talent but are simply off to a slow start. The Bulldogs are in need of a few more bodies to provide some offensive punch and more stopping power at the defensive end. I am favoring Murray State but I need to see a line...
