The Horizon and MVC square off when the Wright State Raiders visit the Evansville Purple Aces.
The Wright State Raiders have never been known for lighting up the scoreboard so with their five top scorers graduating it certainly doesn't seem that points will be overly plentiful. The Raiders might be relying on their defense more heavily then in recent years and that's what we saw in Saturday's 56-51 victory at South Carolina-Upstate. The key was the Spartans 37.5% shooting with the Raiders connecting at 43.8% which equated to three more field goals. JT Yoho paced the offense with 17 pointsand six yanks with Joe Thomasson adding eleven points and five helpers while the duo of Chrishawn Hopkins and Michael Karena scored eight points apiece.

The Evansville Purple Aces are expected to be a challenger in the Missouri Valley although I'll wait and see if this team can threaten Wichita State. If experience counts for anything the Purple Aces are in great shape with virtually everyone back. That's been a good thing thus far with the team oss to a 4-1 start after toppling San Francisco 79-70 Wednesday. With the Dons limited to 42.6% from the field the Purple Aces fired away at nearly 51% and had a decisive 9-5 edge on three pointers. Evansville received 23 points from DJ Balentine with Jaylon Brown contributing 15 points and five yanks. Egidijus Mockevicius tossed in 14 points and hauled 14 rebounds while Mislav Brzoja added eleven points, seven boards and six assists.
The Raiders are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games. Wright State are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. For Evansville the Purple Aces are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games and are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Purple Aces are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Horizon League and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. For some reason I hate giving Wright State points but if they can muddy the water they could cover...
