The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks aren't sneaking up on anybody but the bottom line is this team needs a win against a bigger name to be taken seriously. The Memphis Tigers were a team to watch last year but according to the experts the Tigers don't have as much bite with a few key contributors gone. That didn't stop them from handing Indiana State a 72-62 defeat in which they led by 18 heading to the locker room before holding off the Sycamores late rally. The Tigers defense put the squeeze on with ISU hitting at less then 33% while connecting at over 46% which was easily enough to win. Shaq Goodwin paced five double digit scorers with 19 points and eight pulls with Trahson Burrell tossing in 15 points and grabbing five pulls. Avery Woodson scored 12 and handed out five assists while Nick King and Austin Nichols combined for 21 points as ten players saw the floor with eight scoring.
The Lumberjacks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win and the over is 6-2 in Lumberjacks last 8 games following a S.U. win while the under is 5-2 in Lumberjacks last 7 road games. For Memphis Tigers are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The under is 5-0 in Tigers last 5 home games with the over is 4-1 in Tigers last 5 Tuesday games while the under is 10-3 in Tigers last 13 non-conference games and is 5-2 in Tigers last 7 overall. The Lumberjacks are closer in talent to last season's team and Memphis further away from the level they were a year ago. I'm taking the points because I don't thnk the difference is night and day...
