The surging Creighton Bluejays look for a win on the road against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
The Creighton Bluejays lost a world of production when Doug McDermott departed and because of that the expectations for this team have been lowered tremendously. The Bluejays are out to prove everyone wrong as they leaned on their defense to get the job done rather then lighting up the scoreboard. That was the case in a 57-47 victory over Middle Tennessee State as the Jays led 36-21 after 20 minutes and cruised to the finish line behind a 46%-39% shooting edge with eleven more makes at the foul line. Austin Chatman and Isaiah Zierden led a balanced Creighton attack with ten points apiece with Will Artino and Toby Hegner combining for 17 points. Creighton received points from nine of the ten players that saw the floor.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane have a ton of experience returning and are hoping that makes a difference. It hasn't helped them in consecutive defeats to Oklahoma State and to Wichita State although many teams will take their lumps versus these squads. The Golden Hurricane hope to stop the bleeding from a 75-65 loss to the Shockers Saturday who opened an 18 point first half lead and were never threatened. The Shockers connected at 46% and hit 12-26 from the perimeter to easily outdistance Tulsa's 41% accuracy. James Woodard was the best offensive option for the Golden Hurricane with 19 points on 8-13 shooting with D'Andre Wright following with 13 points. Marquel Curtis and Rashad Smith each scored eight points with Smith grabbing eight rebounds.
The Bluejays are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Creighton are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games while going 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games following a ATS win. For Tulsa the Golden Hurricane are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Golden Hurricane are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while going 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Tulsa is vastly more experienced but are they the better team? Maybe....
