The South Alabama Jaguars host former conference foe the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders.
The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders have been a very strong squad for quite awhile but with the lineup depleted by graduation this looks to be a rebuilding year. It's been obvious that points are very difficult to come by which means the Blue Raiders will probably go only as far as their defense takes them. Lately that hasn't been very far with a three game skid following a 63-59 loss at Belmont on Tuesday. The Bruins were up ten at the half and with both teams sinking shots in the 38% range a MTSU rally fell short. The Blue Raiders received 14 points from Marcus Tarrance on 5-9 from the floor in 36 minutes with Jaquan Raymond tossing in 12 points and grabbing six boards. DeVante Jones and Reggie Upshaw Jr. added eleven points each with Upshaw snagging eight rebounds.

The South Alabama Jaguars aren't predicted to do much in the Sun Belt because they lost four starters and a world of production. Replacing all that was lost is something we'll have to wait and see on as the team is only five games in to their schedule. The Jaguars snapped a three game skid with a 71-54 victory over Spring Hill to improve to 2-3 with both wins coming against sub division squads. The Jaguars led by four at the half before pulling away late with the defense limiting the Badgers to 40% shooting and forcing 19 turnovers. The bad news was USA hit at just 34% and needed a 22-9 edge at the stripe to win. Georgi Boyanov paced the USA offense with 14 points and ten rebounds with Ken Williams adding 12 on 4-14 from the floor. Taishaun Johnson posted eleven points while Dionte Ferguson and John Brown scored eight points each.
The Blue Raiders are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Sun Belt. MTSU are 35-16-1 ATS in their last 52 Saturday games while going 8-3 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games. Jaguars are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Jaguars are 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games following a S.U. win and are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games while going 1-6 ATS in their last 7 vs. Conference USA. Both teams lost a ton to graduation so the question becomes which has a little more left...
