Alumni Gymnasium and the Rider Broncs host the Siena Saints in Sunday afternoon action.
After winning the CBI championship last season Siena figured to be in the mix for the MAAC title. The Saints dropped their first two games of the year but have turned things around for now with victories in three of four following an 88-67 rout of high scoring Quinnipiac Friday to begin the conference schedule 1-0. Siena went on a 48-29 second half run to break open a close game with 54% from the field easily outdistancing the Bobcats 36% shooting. Throw in 16 turnovers and the Saints mustered nine more shots which they didn't need. Siena placed five players in DD in scoring led by a game high 17 points and six assists from Marquise Wright. Rob Poole and Willem Brandwijk each scored 12 points while Lavon Long and Javion Ogunyemi chipping in with ten points apiece and 12 boards.

The Rider Broncs are off to a slow start which has been the result of inconsistent defense and scoring. The Broncs put everything together in a 69-56 decision over Central Connecticut State where a 50 point second half erased a five point deficit heading to the locker room. In a sloppy contest where both teams combined for 35 turnovers, Rider held 47%-42.6% shooting advantage that proved to be the decisive edge when combined with 17 more looks at the basket thanks to 15 offensive rebounds. Matt Lopez was the best player on the floor with 20 points and nine rebounds on 9-13 from the field with Zedric Taylor next in line with 13 points and six boards. Scoring wasn't an issue with five others adding between 6-7 points as the Broncs went with a seven to eight man rotation.
The Saints are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic while going 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Siena are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win. The Broncs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 home games. Rider are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. win while going 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 Sunday games. Tough to lay points on the road especially in the MAAC but I'm going with a contender at small chalk...
