The Line: UC Davis Aggies -8 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The UC Davis Aggies hope to continue their strong start when the Eastern Illinois Panthers come to town.
If only the Eastern Illinois Panthers had some scoring then this team could be 5-3 and not 3-5 but the fact is the offense averages around 57 points per game. The Panthers have made things work lately with back to back victories after knocking off Ball State 61-54 at home Wednesday. A surprising 43 point second half burst erased a six point deficit at the break. The EIU defense held the Cardinals to a mere 30% from the field which made their own 42.6% appear to be hot. Chris Oliver was the best player on the floor with 17 points, seven boards and four blocks with Trae Anderson tossing in 13 points and hauling in eleven rebounds. LeTrell Viser and Cornell Johnston each scored nine points with Johnston posting seven assists.

So far the UC Davis Aggies have been masters of the half court as they have outscored opponents 66-58 with nearly 49% marksmanship. Unfortunately the Aggie found out what happens when they make too many mistakes and opponents make shots. That would describe a 79-71 defeat at Idaho for loss number one of the season. UCD sank shots at 44% but gave the ball away 16 times and that was too much with the Vandals connecting at 46% and turning 26 Aggies fouls in to 25 points at the charity stripe. UC Davis had the best player on the hardwood in Corey Hawkins who scored a game high 33 points on 10-17 fom the field including a 6-11 effort from beyond the arc. Josh Ritchart followed with 14 points and six rebounds and while the entire nine man rotation managed to score none mustered more then five points.
The Panthers are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 while going 4-11 ATS in their last 15 non-conference games. Eastern Illinois are 5-14-1 ATS in their last 20 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The Aggies are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games and Aggies are 14-30 ATS in their last 44 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while going Aggies are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. I don't think UC Davis is a team that many know a lot about but they are playing well at both ends of the floor and my choice her I don't like to back them as decent sized favorites...
