The Towson Tigers take a trip up the interstate to tangle with the Temple Owls in Philadelphia.
After a spectacular season ago Towson only has two starters back and predicted to fight to finish in the middle of the Colonial. However the Tigers are doing well thus far at 7-2 with the defense doing most of the heavy lifting. Having said that neither end of the floor stood out in a 78-46 rout at Georgetown as a 15 point underdog on Sunday. This was a 23 point Hoyas lead after 20 minutes with GT hitting at 55% with eleven bombs while the Tigers connected at 41% with an 0-12 effort on threes along with 16 turnovers. Scoring was definitely an issue with Four McGlynn and John Davis tossing in ten points with Davis grabbing ten rebounds. Byron Hawkins and Timajh Parker-Rivera combined for 17 points but very little production came from others.

As a Temple Owls fan I have noticed that the team had become a score first squad with very little defense which is exactly the opposite of an Owls team I knew over the years. This season the defense has been very good but the scoring is way down. The Owls have won three of four following a 58-57 victory over Big Five rival LaSalle. The Explorers owned a 43%-34.7% advantage shooting with three more bombs and six more free throws being the difference. Quenton DeCosey was the big gun offensively with 19 points on 4-8 from the floor including 3-3 from the perimeter while Jalen Bond added eleven points, five pulls and five steals. The entire eight man rotation scored but shooting the ball was problematic.
The Tigers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss. Towson are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game. The Owls are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Temple are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games. I think I have a better grip on Temple then Towson and I think this is too many points...
