The Chattanooga Mocs open their SoCon schedule on the road against the Citadel Bulldogs.
The Chattanooga Mocs are supposed to take another step forward and make a run at the SoCon title in 2013-14. The Mocs are just 4-5 but three of those losses came to Georgia, Butler and Wisconsin so they have played some decent programs and paid the price. On the flip side the Mocs got a breather in a 104-50 rout of sub division Montreat on Monday in a game that was over at the half with the lead sitting at 32. Chattanooga fired away at 55% while forcing 28 turnovers and grabbing 17 offensive rebounds in totaling 32 more shots. Eric Robertson led six DD scorers with 16 points with Duke Ethridge next in line with 14 points and seven yanks. Ronrico White and Greg Pryor followed with 12 points apiece with the duo of Tre McLean and Chuck Ester tossing in eleven points each.

The Citadel Bulldogs are looking to climb from the bottom of the conference to somewhere in the middle which would be a huge move for a team that's not accustomed to winning. The 4-4 Bulldogs have not had the most difficult schedule through eight games but they have been competitive which is a good sign. The Bulldogs are looking to build on their 67-60 victory over visiting Navy where they played their game in the half court. The Midshipmen were held to 41% from the floor while the Bulldogs connected at 47% which was decisive. Jake Wright led the offense with a game high 21 points on 6-10 on threes followed by Ashton Moore with 13 on 5-15 shooting. PJ Horgan was next in line with 12 points and five yanks while CJ Bray added ten points and grabbed nine rebounds.
The Mocs are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game while going 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games. Chattanooga are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game and are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games following a SU win of more than 20 points. The Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Citadel are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Southern and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. Chattanooga is supposed to be aleague contender and Citadel is not and this game is a pick? Be careful here until both have a few conference games under their belt...
