The Idaho Vandals go out on the road to take the floor withe the Western Illinois Leathernecks at Western Hall.
The question for the Idaho Vandals is whether they are in the top or bottom half of the Big Sky and most think it's the latter. It really depends if the shots are falling because this team specializes in scoring but doesn't have much defense to lean on. The Vandals had just enough of everything in a 79-71 decision versus UC Davis to earn back to back victories. Idaho rallied from an eight point first half hole behind a 49-33 second half run. The Aggies hit at 44% from the floor and had 16 giveaways while the Vandals shot 46%and turned 26 UCD fouls in to 25 makes at the line. Leading scorer Mike Scott pumped in 19 points with Connor Hill adding 16 points. Sekou Wiggs scored 13 points and snagged five boards while Arkadiy Mkrtychyan chipped in with eleven points and grabbed seven rebounds.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks are rebuilding and their numbers tell the story. Although a 2-5 record doesn't really mean much to me this early in the year the numbers do as I can see the Leathernecks struggling to put points on the board and get stops. WIU is looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats following 76-54 loss at Cleveland State on Sunday as the Vikings rolled to a 23 point lead after 20 minutes and never looked back. The Leathernecks allowed 48% shooting and connected at a competitive 46.7% but 21 turnovers and a 17-6 deficit at the charity stripe were difference makers. Western Illinois received 17 points from Garret Covington who went 4-6 from down town with Jabari Sandifer tossing 12 points and Mohamed Conti adding eight.
The andals are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Idaho are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games and are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win. The Leathernecks are 10-26 ATS in their last 36 games overall and are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. WIU are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. Neither team looks like a 'bet the house' type wager so I'll throw this out there...
