The Florida Atlantic Owls pay a visit to UCF Arena to tangle with instate rival the Central Florida Knights.
The Florida Atlantic Owls are probably an afterthought in most circles regarding where they fit in the CUSA. The Owls could boost their standing with more scoring as a lack of consistent offense is why FAU does not have a winning record although they might have something going with consecutive victories after knocking off East Carolina 72-63 on Wednesday. The Owls were up 12 at the break and kept the Pirates at arm's length by limiting them to 38.8% from the field with their own 52% accuracy carrying the day. Justin Massey was the Owls star with 17 points, five pulls and five assists with Marquan Botley tossing in 15 points and posting six helpers while CJ Turman and Justin Raffington scored 14 and nine points.

The Central Florida Knights know their best chance at winning is putting points on the scoreboard and then hope their defense makes enough stops to pick up the win. The Knights had issues putting the ball in the basket in Thursday's 71-60 defeat at Illinois-Chicago where the Flames erased a three point deficit at the half with a 44 point explosion over the final 20 minutes. UCF had a slight 44%-41.5% shooting edge but were outscored at the stripe 21-13 and couldn't get stops in the second half. BJ Taylor was Central Florida's only double digit scorer with 13 points followed by Justin McBride with nine points while Brandon Goodwin and Staphon Bair added eight points apiece while combining for eight rebounds.
