The Radford Highlanders hope to beat the odds by taking down the Georgetown Hoyas at the Verizon Center.
The Radford Highlanders figure to be one of the top teams in the Big South as they return all five starters from last season's 22 win campaign. The 5-3 Highlanders have won three in a row and five of six after downing Virginia Tech 68-66 on the road Sunday as they took a nine point lead in to the locker room and held on down the stretch. The Highlanders kept the pace slow and sank 52% from the field while the Hokies checked in with 50%. The difference was a few more threes and foul shots to negate Virginia Tech's extra field goals. RJ Price was too much to handle for the Hokies defense with a game high 25 points on 9-17 shooting with Brandon Holcomb netting 14 points and snagging seven boards while Ya Ya Anderson and Javonte Green combined for 17 points with Green hauling in ten rebounds.

The Big East looks a little top heavy in 2014-15 with Villanova and Butler playing lights out but the Georgrtown Hoyas are never a team to overlook or they'll beat you. The Hoyas are 5-3 but have dropped three of four with losses to Wisconsin, Butler and Kansas on Wednesday. The Hoyas hung tough defensively by holdiing the Jayhawks to 37.7% shooting and forcing 17 turnovers, however GT did not take advantage with 40% marksmanship and 16 giveaways of their own. When the final buzzer sounded six more KU free throws were the difference. Joshua Smith led all scorers with 20 points and five yanks followed by an 18 point effort from LJ Peak while Paul White and D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera adding ten points each with Smith-Rivera posting ten boards and five assists.
The Highlanders are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games while going 4-13 ATS in their last 17 games overall. Radford are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. win and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 non-conference games. The Hoyas are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games and are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games. I don't know how valuable the trends are for Radford because they are never lined. If they can keep Georgetown in the lower 70's they have a shot at covering...
