The Ole Miss Rebels got upset at home against TCU last week, but rebounded nicely with an impressive 79-73 win at Oregon this past Sunday. Ole Miss scored 47 points in the first half to take a 13 point lead into the break and was able to hang on in the second half to pick up the victory. Leading the way for the Rebels was Stefan Moody who had 22 points and 4 rebounds. The Rebels bench came up big in the game as three members were able to notch double digits in the game. Ole Miss is led by one of the best guards in the SEC in Jarvis Summers who is averaging 12.1 ppg and 3.5 apg. Also contributing for the Rebels have been Stefan Moody (14.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg), Ladarius White (11.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg), and Sebastian Saiz (7.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg). Ole Miss has been averaging 70.3 ppg (ranked 141st) on 41.9% shooting (ranked 238th). Ole Miss is one of the best free-throw shooting teams in the nation as they are currently shooting 77.6% from the line which ranks 4th in the country. Old Miss is currently ranked 44th in the RPI standings and has played the 51st toughest schedule on the season. Defensively, the Rebels are holding their opponents to 62.9 ppg (ranked 121st), however, their defensive FG% is currently just 35.3% which ranked 13th in the country.
The Hilltoppers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss, however, just 5-13 ATS in their last 18 non-conference games. The Rebels are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 match-ups against Conference USA opponents, however just 3-9-2 ATS in their last 14 games following a ATS win.
Ole Miss had a real nice victory at Oregon and it was encouraging to see them win a tough game away from home when their best player was having an off night. Ole Miss has had multiple letdowns at home already on the season, however, I just can’t see how the Hilltoppers will be able to keep this one close. I’m going to take Ole Miss to cover the large spread.
