The Drake Bulldogs pay a visit to the Resch Center to tangle with the Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday.
The Drake Bulldogs are 1-7 but in my view they have played a decent schedule against some good mid majors but the bottom line is this team needs a boost at both ends of the floor. The Bulldogs have been outscored 72-62 and their problems putting the ball in the basket hurt them in a 63-62 loss to visiting North Dakota on Saturday. The Bulldogs shot the ball well enough at 52% but 18 turnovers hurt them especially with North Dakota firing a way at 53%. Reed Timmer led a balance Drake offense on 5-11 with Jordan Daniels tossing in 12 points with six TO. Gary Ricks Jr. added nine points and five pulls while Trevor Berkeley and Jacob Enevold Jensen chipping with eight points each along with five rebounds apiece.

The Green Bay Phoenix were the kings of the Horizon during the regular season before getting the boot in the conference playoffs. The Phoenix are back for the second consecutive season and are out to prove their effort last year was not a fluke. After getting blasted by Georgia State the Phoenix rebounded to to defeat Miami 68-55 on the road as an eleven point underdog. GB put the strangle hold on the Hurricanes offense which mustered just 32.8% shooting which made their own 44% accuracy the decisive number with five more field goals. Carrington Love paced Green Bay with 20 points and nine rebounds on 6-11 from the field. Keifer Sykes was right on his heels with 18 points and seven boards followed by Greg Mays with ten points and Kenneth Lowe with eight points.
The Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Horizon League while going 16-36 ATS in their last 52 Saturday games and 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Phoenix are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Green Bay are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. From what I have seen from Green Bay they are tough to go against if playing well but not my type of game...
