The Temple Owls and the Villanova Wildcats take the floor in their annual battle at The Pavilion.
The Temple Owls have not looked like the team from the past several years and that's probably a good thing as they had to outscore opponents to win. That hasn't been the case thus far as they are holding opponents to around 60 points. The Owls have won four of five after downing Towson 76-64 on Wednesday with the Tigers held to 31.7% from the floor. Temple mustered just 40% accuracy and used a 26-15 edge at the foul line to win. Will Cummings was top scorer with 22 points and five yanks on 3-13 with Quenton DeCosey adding 16 points and five pulls. Daniel Dingle and Jaylen Bon combined for 21 points with Bond grabbing nine rebounds.

The Villanova Wildcats have slowly risen to number seven in the country behind an offense that can score in bunches that is backed up by a shutdown defense so it's safe to say the Wildcats can win in any number of ways. Nova put everything together in downing Illinois 73-59 Tuesday as they stretched a six point lead at the break into another DD victory and a 9-0 record. The Fighting Illini sank shots at 41% but Nova countered with 53.7% accuracy with an 11-4 margin at the line to win easily despite a sloppy 16 turnovers. A balanced Wildcats offense received 18 points and five yanks from Dylan Ennis who shot 7-10 while Daniel Ochefu and Darrun Hilliard added 12 points apiece and ten rebounds. Josh Hart rounded out the top contributors with ten points and seven boards.
The Owls are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 vs. Big East while going 21-7-1 ATS in their last 29 Sunday games. Temple are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win and are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games. The Wildcats are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 21-6-1 ATS in their last 28 non-conference games. Villanova are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 home games and are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Villanova is National Championship material while Temple has gone from offense only to defense only. Not a game I have interest in...
