The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks visit the Windy City to tangle with the Illinois-Chicago Flames.
If you have followed the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks through the years you know there was nuch more losing then winning going on so a 5-2 record is a big deal even though the schedule hasn't been difficult. The Skyhawks picked up consecutive victories in a 77-67 road win over Longwood. UTM took a 13 point lead in to the break and managed to hold off the Lancers over the final 20 minutes. Longwood shot the ball well enough at 45% but it couldn't compare to the Skyhawks scorching 57% marksmanship. Deville Smith and Twymond Howard led the offense with 16 points apiece with Javier Martinez and Marshun Newellnetting ten points each followed Myles Taylor and his ten points.

The Illinois-Chicago Flames haven't had too many positives in the early going with a 3-7 record telling that story. The problem is the Flames are being outscored 70-64 although that trend was reversed in a 71-60 victory over visiting Central Florida. UIC erased a three point hole with a 44-30 second half run with 17 turnovers negating the Knights 44% accuracy. The Flames hit at a 41.5% pace and won the battle at the foul line by a 21-13 mark. Jay Harris gave the Illinois-Chicago offense a huge boost with a 32 point explosion on 9-16 from the field with Jake Weigand adding 12 points and seven rebounds while D'Juan Miller and Marc Brown combined for another 17 points.
The Skyhawks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Monday games. Tennessee-Martin are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and are 9-25-1 ATS in their last 35 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Flames are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Monday games and are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Ohio Valley. UIC are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.I think the Flames are on par with the past few years but the Skyhawks are a step ahead of where they have been so I'll back them...
