Oral Roberts Golden Eagles will travel to the Lloyd Noble Center to take on the Oklahoma Sooners this Tuesday night.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles improved to 3-4 on the season after defeating the New Mexico State Aggies 86-83 this past Saturday night. The Golden Eagles shot an impressive 56.0% (28-50 FG) from the field and forced the Aggies to commit 15 turnovers in the game. Leading the way for Oral Roberts was Obi Emegano who had 24 points (14-18 FTM-A), 2 rebounds, and 3 steals. On the season, the Golden Eagles have been led by Obi Emegano (17.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.4 apg), Korey Billbury (15.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg), and Denell Henderson (6.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg). The Golden Eagles have had difficulties on both ends of the ball early in the season. Offensively, Oral Roberts has averaged 64.4 ppg (ranked 243rd) on 38.4% shooting (ranked 317th). The Golden Eagles have really struggled behind the arc as they currently are only averaging 4.3 three-pointers per game (ranked 312st). Defensively, Oral Roberts are allowing their opponents to score 69.7 ppg (ranked 248th) on 45.9% shooting (ranked 294th). The Golden Eagles will look to improve their defensive rebounding as they are currently only grabbing 20.71 defensive rebounds per game (ranked 313th).

The 15th ranked Oklahoma Sooners improved to 6-2 on the season after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 87-68 this past Saturday. The Sooners shot 46.9% from the field and jumped all over Tulsa early in the second half getting out to a 19 point lead that the Golden Hurricane could never recover from. Leading the way for the Sooners was TaShawn Thomas who had 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Isaiah Cousins also had a nice game contributing 21 points and 8 rebounds. On the season, Oklahoma have been led by Buddy Hield (16.0 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2.1 apg), Isaiah Cousins (13.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg), and Ryan Spangler (9.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg). Oklahoma currently ranks 38th in the RPI standing and 80th in SOS. Last season, Oklahoma had one of the better offensives in the country but struggled defensively. The Sooners have made major strides with their defensive as they currently are holding their opponents to 62.1 ppg (ranked 100th) on just 36.7% shooting (ranked 23rd). The Sooners are pulling down an astonishing 31.25 defensive rebounds per game which ranks 2nd in the country. Offensively, Oklahoma is averaging 73.8 ppg (ranked 78th), however, look to improve their shooting percentage as they are only shooting 42.8% from the field (ranked 202nd).
Oral Roberts will have to play a make-up game tonight against the Missouri State Bears and then will have to travel to Oklahoma to take on the Sooners. Oklahoma is by far the better team on both sides of the ball and I can see the Sooner offensive having a big day against the tired legs of the Golden Eagles. I’m taking Oklahoma to cover this large spread.
