The Mississippi Rebels welcome the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers to the Tad Smith Coliseum.
The Coastal Carollina Chanticleers are penciled in as the big dog in the Big South with their ability to score and defend being the best combination in the conference. The Chanticleers are outscoring opponents 70-52 and are a top five defensive club. The team won number four in a row after knocking off South Carolina State 57-43 with great defense in the half court. The visitors laed by 13 at the break and that was just about the game with the Bulldogs only shooting 30% including 4-21 from distance. Coastal's 39% wasn't great by any stretch but combined with a 14-7 edge at the line it was good enough. Warren Gillis tossed in a game high 13 points with Elijah Wilson netting 12 points and grabbing six boards. Tristian Curtis added ten points and the entire eight man rotation scored.

The Mississippi Rebels have lost some talent from the past few years and fell a few rungs in a competitive SEC. The Rebels have done well for themselves with a 6-3 mark verus some decent competition as they can defend and score. Ole Miss might have let one get away in an 81-74 home loss to Western Kentucky where the Hilltoppers rallied from a 13 point deficit. The Rebels connected at 38.8% and totaled 13 more shots which turned out to be three more field goals then the 42.6% shooting Hilltoppers. The difference was WKY owned a 26-14 advantage at the charity stripe. Stefan Moody was the Rebels best weapon with 25 points, six boards and five helpers followed by a 15 point effort from LaDarius White. Jarvis Summers added eight points and six helpers with three others scoring between 6-7 points.
The Chanticleers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Coastal Carolina are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Rebels are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Mississippi are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games. I don't see an upset here but I don't see any reason this isn't competitive either so I'll take the points...
