The Buffalo Bulls play host to the Niagara Purple Eagles at Alumni Arena in Friday night action.
The Niagara Purple Eagles are struggling to score and defend and when that happens winning is difficult at best. The Purple Eagles have been outscored 72-58 and are 1-7 with five consecutive defeats following a 78-58 loss to Davidson. Facing a surging Davidson club wasn't ideal with the Wildcats taking an 18 point lead after 20 minutes and coasting the rest of the way. Niagara hit at 34.5% while Davidson connected at almost 54% including 10-24 from long range. Ramone Snowden led a trio of double digit scorers with 14 points and five yanks on 3-9 shooting with Wesley Myers tossing in 12 while Emile Blackman adding eleven points and five boards. Production was difficult to come by outside of the top three.

The Buffalo Bulls are not expected to be a force in the MAC in 2014-15 because of the graduation of some top players. However the team looks as if they never lost anybody with a decent offense and defense leading to a 6-2 record. The Bulls leaned on their scoring to earn consecutive victories after taking down visiting Drexel 80-70 on Tuesday. UB held a 46%-44.8% shooting edge and mustered nine more shots behind a few more forced turnovers and offensive rebounding to total five more field goals. Justin Moss led five double figure scorers with 16 points and rebounds with Jarryn Skeete tossing in 14 points. Rodell Wigginton and Xavier Ford added 12 points apiece while Lamonte Bearden turned in an eleven point, six bord and eight assist performance.
The Purple Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Niagara are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Bulls are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 8-1 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Buffalo are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. I think Buffalo covers if they want to at home but this is a big number for them in my view although it's well within reach...
