The New Mexico Lobos go on the road to match up with instate rival the New Mexico State Aggies.
I would suspect the New Mexico Lobos will be heard from once the Mountain West slate begins because they do it every year. If they do it will probably be because of their top 20 defense that is allowing less then 57 points which is needed with just 64 points scored. The offense came to life in a 76-55 victory over Central Arkansas for win number four in a row. The Bears were held to 35.7% with the Lobos hitting at 46.6% which was all that was needed with that adding up to seven more field goals. Deshawn Delaney tossed in a game high 22 points and hauled in 13 rebounds on 9-14 from the floor while Hugh Greenwood netted 14 points and snagged five boards with Jordan Goodman adding 13.
The New Mexico State Aggies are supposed to be the top squad in the WAC and might be when all is said and done but they have yet to get the ship pointed in the right direction with a 4-7 record after dropping four of five. The Aggies come off of a 66-55 loss at Baylor where they might have let one get away. NMSU led the shooting battle 45.7%-39% but were mistake prone with 18 turnovers and allowed 17 offensive rebounds that gave the Bears 15 more looks and the basket. Remi Barry gave New Mexico State 14 points and five yanks with Pascal Siakam netting 12 points. DK Eldridge and Jonathan Wilkins combined for 17 points with Wilkens grabbing five rebounds.
The Lobos are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 12-3-2 ATS in their last 17 vs. Western Athletic. New Mexico are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 22-9-2 ATS in their last 33 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Aggies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. New Mexico State is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games. New Mexico won this match up at home several weeks ago and if defense travels well they do it again...
