The Green Bay Phoenix loss a tight 72-70 match-up in the finals of the Holiday Hoops Classic against the UC Irvine Anteaters to drop to 9-3 on the season. Green Bay allowed the Anteaters to shoot 62.5% (10-16) from long-range while only shooting 22.2% themselves from long-range. Leading the way for the Phoenix was Keifer Sykes who had 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Green Bay is currently ranked 32nd in the RPI Standings and have played the 56th ranked SOS. The Panthers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Phoenix are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a S.U. loss.
If you like great guard play, this will be a fun one to watch as Keifer Sykes of Green Bay and R.J. Hunter of Georgia State are two of the better guards in the entire country. Georgia State dominated Green Bay earlier in the season 72-48, however I think this match-up will be much closer as Green Bay will be home this game. I think Green Bay will be highly motivated at home to not only bounce back from their loss earlier this week, but also to get revenge on the Panthers. I’m taking Green Bay to win this one and cover the spread.
