The Tulsa Golden Hurricane begin life in the AAC riding back to back victories after throttling Incarnate Word 76-47 before Christmas. The Golden Hurricane hopes to carry over some of offense in to conference play because scoring the basketball isn't a strength so far. Incarnate Word were shellshocked by defense with 29% shooting and a 41-16 deficit at the break making Tulsa's 42% marksmanship look far better then what it was because 17 forced turnovers and 14 offensve rebounds led to 14 extra looks. Shaquille Harrison led all scorers with 24 points on 10-15 from the field with James Woodard and Marquel Curtis tossing in 12 and eleven points while Rashad Smith chipped in with eight points and grabbed eight rebpunds.

The Central Florida Knights did not have a lot go their way in the AAC a season ago but they are hoping a new year brings better fortune with it. The Knights need to tweak their defense a little but for the most part things could be lot worse then 7-4. The Knights are looking for win number three in a row after downing Southeastern Louisiana 70-65 in a tune up before the Christmas break. Both teams connected in the 40%-41% range with the differnce being the Knights holding a 10-8 advantge from long range. BJ Taylor paced the Central Florida offense with 15 points while Adonys Henriquez and Brandon Goodwin tossed in 13 points apiece with Goodwin posting five helpers. Daiquan Walker did everything with eleven points, six pulls and seven assistson 5-10 shooting.
For the Golden Hurricane are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win of more than 20 points and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. Tulsa are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games following a S.U. win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Knights are 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 vs. American Athletic Conference and are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games. Central Florida are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win.
