The War Memorial Gymnasium and the San Francisco Dons host the San Diego Toreros in WCC action.
The San Diego Toreros appeared to be peaking with three consecutive victories heading in to conference play but they lost their steam with two straight league defeats after a 60-48 defeat to visiting Gonzaga. The Zags jumped to a 15 point lead at the half and kept the lid on any Toreros rally. SD did a very good job on defense by holding the Bulldogs to 42% from the floor and forcing 14 turnovers but everything went for naught with their own 26.7% marksmanship doing them in. Johnny Dee was San Diego's only double digit scorer with a game high 20 points and eight rebounds on 5-16 from the field. Duda Sanadze and Chris Sarbaugh combined for 13 points but nobody else scored more then five points.

If you have followed San Francisco basketball through the years you know this team typically can find a way to do plenty of damage on the scoreboard. This season doesn't look much different with a 73 point average although it's still early in the scope of things. The Dons offense was nowhere to be found in a 69-56 loss at Saint Mary's on Monday with just 43% shooting to lean on including a 5-17 mark from long distance. In contrast the Gaels sank shots at a 52% pace which added up to five more field goals. Tim Derksen was the big gun for the San Francisco offense with 16 points on 6-7 shooting with Matt Glover tossing in ten points while Mark Tollefson and Devin Watson combined for 17 points and ten boards with Watson posting seven assists.
The Toreros are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. San Diego are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Dons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games following three or more consecutive road games and are 41-14 ATS in their last 55 vs. West Coast. San Francisco are 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 games following a ATS loss and 37-18-1 ATS in their last 56 games following a S.U. loss. Sand Diego can be tough to nail down but instead of trying to figure them out I'll side with the team who has enjoyed success in this match up...
