The UCLA Bruins will travel to the Coors Event Center to take on the Colorado Buffaloes this Friday night.

The UCLA Bruins lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 8-5 on the season after losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide 56-50 this past Sunday night. The Bruins struggled on offensive as they only shot 30.8% (16-52) from the field and 26.3% (5-19) from long range. Leading the way for UCLA was Bryce Alford who had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. UCLA was ranked earlier in the season, but have really struggled as of late. Currently, the Bruins are ranked 111th in the RPI Standings and has played the 91 ranked SOS. On the season, the Bruins have been led by Bryce Alford (17.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 6.1 apg), Norman Powell (15.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.8 spg), and Kevon Looney (12.8 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.6 bpg). Offensively, UCLA is averaging 75.6 ppg (ranked 41st) on 43.1% shooting (ranked 194th). UCLA is averaging 13.4 turnovers per game (ranked 188th). Defensively, the Bruins are allowing their opponents to score an average of 70.8 ppg (ranked 279th) on 40.6% shooting (ranked 118th). Colorado Buffaloes vs. UCLA Bruins - 1/2/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Colorado Buffaloes dropped to 7-5 on the season after losing to the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors 69-66 in the consolation game of the Diamond Head Classic on December 25th. The Buffaloes outrebounded the Warriors by a 41-29 margin however allowed Hawaii to shoot 50.0% (9-18) from long range. Leading the way for the Buffaloes was Josh Scott who had 23 points (7-11 FGM-A), 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Colorado ranks 85th in the RPI Standings and has play the 44th ranked SOS. On the season, the Buffaloes have been led by Josh Scott (14.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.0 bpg), Askia Booker (15.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.1 apg), and Xavier Johnston (13.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg). Offensively, Colorado is averaging 68.3 ppg (ranked 168th) on 45.2% (ranked 106th). The Buffaloes average 11.5 apg (ranked 254th) and have a 0.9 assist-turnover ratio (ranked 223rd). Defensively, Colorado is holding their opponents to 60.8 ppg (ranked 72nd) on 45.2% shooting (ranked 106th). The Buffaloes grab 26.33 defensive rpg (ranked 65th) and 37.08 total rpg (ranked 99th).

The Bruins are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. the Pac-12 however, are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Buffaloes are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss.

UCLA started the season off strong basically scoring at will against lesser competition. Over the past week, it’s been quite a different story as they were completely shut-down by Kentucky and really struggled against Alabama. Colorado has also been struggling as they have lost 4 of their last 6 games and can’t seem to find any consistent offensive. Both teams desperately need a win and I think that between the experience the Buffaloes have and their home-court advantage that the Buffaloes pull away from the Bruins late in this one and cover the spread. Take Colorado to cover.
