The Niagara Purple Eagles take the hardwood with the Mahattan Jaspers in MAAC action on Friday.
The Manhattan Jaspers have the talent to challenge for a top four spot in the MAAC but have not been very consistent and especially so at the offensive end where they are averaging just 63 points. The Jaspers have shown some positive signs in winning consecutive contests after dominating both ends of the floor in a 71-57 victory versus Fordham as a six points favorite. The Rams were held to 42.6% from the field and gave the ball away 17 times while the Jaspers connected at 46% including a 9-18 mark from beyond the arc which provided a bit of a cushion. Emmy Andujar led the Jaspers with 14 points and nine rebounds followed by Ashton Pankey and Shane Richards with 12 points apiece with Pankey snagging five boards.

The Niagara Purple Eagles have been struggling to both score and defend thus far so when this team comes up with a big performance at either end of the floor the game has to go in to the win column. The Purple Eagles did just that in a 65-47 rout of Albany that put an end to a seven game slide with a 38-22 second half run winning it. Both teams sank shots in the 41%-42% range but the Purple Eagles hit 11-22 from distance and held a 12-1 advantage at the charity stripe to win easily. The tandem of Ramone Snowden and Wesley Myers werre too much for the Great Danes defense with 17 points apiece on 11-17 shooting. Rayvon Harris followed with 12 points and eight boards while Emile Blackman chipped in with eight points and six boards.
The Jaspers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Manhattan are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win. The Purple Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. Niagara are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Friday games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Jaspers have a golden opportunity to get the win here as a small favorite and I see no reason they don't...
