The Buffalo Bulls and the Cornell Big Red take the court at Alumni Arena in Saturday action.
The Cornell Big Red are probably a small fish in the world of college basketball but they are hanging on while waiting for the Ivy League slate to begin. It hasn't been good lately with the Big Red dropping three of four after a 61-44 defeat at Syracuse as the offense continued to struggle with just 13 first half points doing them in. Cornell made shots at 34.5% which fell well short of the 48% shooting of the Cuse which was six more field goals. The Big Red simply didn't have enough offensive firepower to stay competitive with Shonn Miller the best scoring option with 12 points and five yanks. JoJo Fallas added eleven points but nobody else was able to produce more then six points.

The Buffalo Bulls were not predicted to take down the MAC but they have probably exceeded expectations and could be the surprise squad because they can score and defend. We saw both ends of the floor shine in a 76-50 victory at Binghamton on Tuesday as UB ended any mystery with a 19 point lead at the break. The Bearcats were stiffled on 34.6% from the field while the Bulls connected at 42% to pull away with five double digit scorers leading the way. Justin Moss paced the Bulls with 16 points and five yanks on 6-8 shooting. The trio of Will Regan, Shannon Evans and Rodell Wigginton each contributed 14 points with the latter two combining for 21 rebounds while Xavier Ford chipped in with eleven points.
The Big Red are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games. Cornell are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Mid-American. The Bulls are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 11-1 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games. Buffalo are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games. Buffalo looks like the real deal to me and I see them making a name for themselves in the MAC but I'll take the points in a Bulls win...
