The Massachusetts Minutemen were a question mark heading in to 2014-15 because they lost substantial talent from a season ago. The Minutemen have had some struggles because they have been able to score but so have opponents. UMass upped their record to 7-6 with an 87-82 victory over visiting Iona on Tuesday as they simply shot the ball better. UMass connected at 51.6% from the field which negated seven more looks and 44% marksmanship of the Gaels. At the final buzzer all five Massachusetts starters reached double figures in scoring with Trey Davis leading the way with a game high 25 points and seven helpers on near perfect 10-11 shooting. Derrick Coleman was right on his heels with a 19 point, seven rebound effort with Maxie Esho adding eleven with Cady Lalanne and Jabarie Hinds netting ten points each.
The Bonnies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. St Bonaventure are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Atlantic 10 and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss. The Minutemen are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. UMass are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games following a ATS win. The question here is whether St Bonaventure can score on UMass because if they can they can cover but certainly not win...
