The Purdue Boilermakers welcome Big Ten rival the Michigan Wolverines to Mackey Arena Saturday.
The Purdue Boilermakers lost some of their early season edge with a three game skid and are trying to regain some of the magic after knocking off Minnesota 72-68 on Wednesday in front of the home crowd. A 47-32 second half run erased an eleven point deficit despite both teams connecting at around 44% with the Boilermakers sinking 22-27 free throws to get the win. Kendall Stephens led a group of four double digit scorers with 19 points on 4-8 shooting from distance while Rapheal Davis on his heals with 18 points. AJ Hammons added eleven points and nine rebounds while Jon Octeus chipped in with ten points and Vince Edwards with eight.

The Michigan Wolverines are trying to rebound from an uneven start to the season where they suffered a few unexpected upsets. The Wolverines are hoping better things are in the future and it has started that way with consecutive victories after a 73-65, overtime win versus visiting Illinois. Both squads sank shots in the 41% range with the Wolverines being the benefactor of a 10-6 advantage on three pointers to squeeze out the win. Aubrey Dawkins led all scorers with 20 points and five yanks with Caris LeVert next in line with 19 points and five helpers. The tandem of Ricky Doyle and Zak Irvin netted 13 points apiece with Irvin posting five boards which gave Michigan a 1-0 record in conference action.
