The Indiana-Purdue Jaguars look for the road upset of the IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons Sunday.
The Indiana-Purdue Jaguars 4-10 record is easily explained by their offensive and defensive numbers where they are getting outscored 69-59. The Jaguars need to improve these numbers in a big way but there was no improvement to be found in a 70-49 defeat at North Carolina Central on Monday. The Eagles were up ten at the half and never let up with 44% from the floor dwarfing the Jaguars 29% accuracy that was compounded by 17 giveaways. DJ McCall was the only double digit scorer with eleven points with PJ boutte scoring eight points on 3-10 from the field. The Jaguars emptied the bench with 13 players seeing the floor and eleven scoring.

The IUPU-Ft-Wayne Mastodons were supposed to be one of the better teams in the Summit League but watching them compile a 7-7 record I have not been impressed at all. The Mastodons have dropped five of seven with the two victories coming against sub division squads. IPFW opened the conference schedule with a 73-67 defeat at Western Illinois on Friday. Both teams hit shots at just under 40% with the Leathernecks turning 26 Mastodons personals in to a substantial 27-18 edge. Joe Reed paced a trio of double digit scorers with 20 points and six pulls on 6-13 shooting followed by a 12 point, 12 rebound performance from Isaiah McCray. Mo Evans added eleven points and six boards with four others scoring 5-7 points.
The Jaguars are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Indiana-Purdue are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 17-36 ATS in their last 53 games following a S.U. loss. The Mastodons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Ft Wayne are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. If the Mastodons are as advertised they win and cover and anything else tells me these guys are over rated...
