The Marist Red Foxes visit the Yanitelli Center to face the Saint Peter's Peacocks in MAAC action.
The Marist Red Foxes just can't seem to get their offense going and as I have said before you have to score at some point and that's problem number one. The offense had issues once again in a 69-59 loss to visiting Rider for their 8th consecutive defeat. This was a tie game after 20 minutes with the Broncs finding the scoring touch late. At the final buzzer Rider held a 44%-41% shooting edge for a few more baskets while a 12-4 edge at the foul line sealed the deal. Chavaughn Lewis gave the Red Foxes a game high 22 points with six pulls but he turned the ball over eight times. Philip Lawrence followed with ten points while Manny Thomas and KJ Lee combined for 15 points and eight rebounds.
USA TODAY Sports
The Saint Peter's Peacocks are no strangers to offensive woes but they are making the best of it with a 7-7 record after a 66-60 road victory at Quinnipiac on Friday to give the team wins in five of six which is a lot of winning for this team. The Peacocks took an eight point lead at the half and the Bobcats couldn't make a run. SPC won the shooting battle 36%-32% but Quinnipiac lost it because of a 2-18 performance on threes. Leading scorer Desi Washington scored 17 points and snagged five pulls but gave the ball away six times. Quadir Welton checked in with 13 points and hauled in 13 rebounds followed by a 12 point effort from Trevis Wyche who hith 5-9 from the floor. The offense was not explosive but nine players scored altogether.
The Red Foxes are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games following a S.U. loss and Red Foxes are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. Marist are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Peacocks are 18-42-1 ATS in their last 61 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 Sunday games. Saint Peter's are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 7-21-1 ATS in their last 29 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. I laugh when I see the huge spread here yet I know the Peacocks can cover but I have no desire to put money on either...
