The Boston College Eagles open the ACC schedule with the Pittsburgh Panthers at the Silvio O. Conte Forum.
The Pittsburgh Panthers are not predicted to challenge in a very tough Atlantic Coast but they have quietly built a 10-4 record. The Panthers had been on a roll with contributions from both ends of the floor leading to five consecutive victories before struggling in the conference opener in a 68-50 defeat at North Carolina State. The Wolfpack led throughout with the Panthers held to under 33% shooting while burning the nets at 52% which equaled nine more baskets. Jamel Artis gave the Wolfpack 13 points and five yanks followed a combined 21 points from the duo of James Robinson and Michael Young with Young hauling in nine rebounds.

The Boston College Eagles aren't mentioned in the ACC conversation as I view them more as a spoiler then contender. The Eagles have average scoring and defensive numbers which probably won't do a whole lot of damage in a conference packed with talent. BC struggled in all areas in a conference opening 85-62 defeat at Duke on Saturday. The Eagles were never in this with a 16 point deficit by the half and their 40% effort from the field wasn't enough to hang with the Blue Devils who hit at 47% with a 9-3 edge from distance whiile sinking 15 more free throws. Boston College received 22 points on 8-16 from the field from Olivier Hanlan with Aaron Brown netting eleven points. Dennis Clifford and Patrick Heckmann combined for 17 points and ten rebounds with the starting five accounting for all but five points.
The Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Atlantic Coast. Pittsburgh are 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 games following a ATS loss and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Eagles are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss and 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Boston College are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 home games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. No line has been released so I'm checking for injuries so please check back...
