The San Jose State Spartans visit the Air Force Falcons at Clune Arena in a Mountain West battle.
The San Jose Spartans are in obvious trouble at 2-12 but their chances of turning things around are small unless they can muster more offense then 56 points. The points have not come in four consecutive defeats with no more then 59 points scored after a competitive albeit losing effort in a 64-59 defeat to a solid Wyoming squad as an 18 point underdog on Saturday. The Cowboys erased an eight point deficit with a 41-28 second half run with 50% marksmanship and a 23-3 advantage at the foul line outdistancing the Spartans 44% shooting with their 16 extra looks. Darryl Gaynor II led San Jose State with 17 points with Ivor Basor and Rashad Muhammad netting netting 14 and 13 points with Muhammad posting five boards.

The Air Force Falcons have put together some decent numbers as they are outscoring opponents 68-61 yet they are barely keeping their heads above water at 7-6. The Falcons are losing the close ones and have dropped three of four although they were hammered 80-62 at Nevada on Saturday. AFA fell behind by 13 heading to the locker room and were never a factor despite a quality 46% effort from the field. The Wolf Pack hit at 47% but dominated action at the foul line by a 25-10 count. Marek Olesinski led all scorers with 19 points followed by a 14 point, eight board performance from Justin Hammonds. Max Yon was next in line with 13 points with Zach Kocur chipping in with nine points.
The Spartans are 16-35-1 ATS in their last 52 games following a S.U. loss and 16-36-1 ATS in their last 53 games overall. San Jose State are 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 vs. Mountain West and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Falcons are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games while going 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. San Jose State struggles at both ends of the floor and that's why I have a lean to Air Force but too many points for me...
