The Samford Bulldogs pay a visit to the Citadel Bulldogs at McAlister Field House in a SoCon bout.
The Samford Bulldogs have been something of an afterthought in the SoCon as they haven't done a lot of winning. The Bulldogs aren't winning at the moment with back to back defeats but both losses were by a combined five points. Samford fell to high scoring East Tennessee State 76-74 on Monday in a game they led by a basket at the half. The Bulldogs led the shooting battle 54.5%-45.5% but 15 giveaways and eleven Buccaneers offensive boards led to eleven more shots and the win. Marcus Johnson paced the Bulldogs with 20 points on 6-8 followed by Darius Jones-Gibson with 15 points. Tyler Hood and Christen Cunningham combined for 21 points with Evan Taylor chipping in with eight.

The Citadel Bulldogs are very similar to their counterparts in that not many are paying very close attention to this team. However the Bulldogs are hanging tough in most cases but not winning as many as they would like as their 6-8 record states. The Citadel isn't a big offense so when this group approaches 70 points the game must go in the win column. They did just that Monday in 85-83, overtime victory at North Carolina-Greensboro behind 53% shooting and a 10-18 mark on threes. The issue was 18 turnovers which led to 13 more shots for the 50% shooting Spartans. Ashton Moore was an offensive force with a game high 28 points and five yanks on 9-13 while PJ Horgan added 18 points and five pulls. Marshall Harris III and and Jake Wright each netted 12 points with Harris III handing out seven assists.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win. Samford are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Citadel Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games following a S.U. win. The Citadel are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Southern and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Both teams are great ATS but I believe backing either is a dangerous proposition...
