It's tough to compete with the scoring and defense of the Villanova Wildcats when both are at the top of their game. The Wildcats have been outscoring the opposition 77-60 against good competition which is why they are 14-1. Nova rebounded from their lone defeat at Seton Hall to pound a decent St John's club 90-72 on the road Tuesday behind a 56-37 second half run to erase a one point deficit. Even though the Red Storm shot a solid 48% it paled compared to the Wildcats 55.7% marksmanship including a 10-23 mark from beyond the arc. Darrun Hilliard led four double digit scorers with 21 points followed by a 15 point, nine board performance by Dylan Ennis. Daniel Ochefu and Ryan Arcidiacono contributed 13 and nine points with Ochefu snagging 13 rebounds while Arcidiacono posted ten assists.
The Blue Demons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big East. DePaul are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. Villanova Wildcats are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big East. Villanova are 22-8 ATS in their last 30 home games and 16-6 ATS in their last 22 Saturday games. I'll start by saying that Villanova covers if they want and wins big in any case but not a game for me...
