The Siena Saints shoot for another conference win when the Fairfield Stags visit the Times Union Center.
The Fairfield Stags have not been able to get their offense untracked and that's been a major reason the team is struggling along at 4-10 with 60 points. The Stags are mired in a five game slide including consecutive conference defeats capped off by a 62-46 loss to visiting Rider as a two point underdog. The Broncs took a 24-13 lead in to the half and kept the hammer down until the final buzzer with 48% shooting taking care of business. FF never challenged on 31.5% accuracy and shot themselves in the foot with a 3-25 effort from beyond the arc. Leading scorer Marcus Gilbert tossed in 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds followed by a 12 point, 15 board performance from Amadou Sidibe with Jerome Segura netting eight points and handing out five assists.

The Siena Saints have been hanging around while waiting to get healthy and field an entire lineup. The Saints have been a strong offensive squad at 73 points but can't get their defense in synch with nearly 76 points allowed. The Saints are trying to get the ship pointed in the right direction with wins in three of four after downing the visiting Purple Eagles 79-69 on Thursday as an eight point favorite. This one looked like a laugher with Siena taking a 17 point first half lead before Niagara rallied to make the score respectable. Siena played well at both ends of the floor with a 53%-37% shooting advantage being decisive. Evan Hymes led four double digit scorers with a game high 21 points on 9-10 with a 17 point, nine rebound effort from Rob Poole next in line. Lavon Long and Marquis Wright tossed in 14 and 12 points with Wright snaring eight boards and posting seven assists.
The Stags are 8-1-2 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 road games. Fairfield are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a double-digit loss at home and 4-1-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. The Saints are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while going 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. I think it's time for Siena to start exerting themselves and if they don't win and cover I'd be very concerned is I was associated with this team...
