The Rider Broncs look to continue their winning ways when the Monmouth Hawks visit Alumni Gymnasium.
The Monmouth Hawks have played a number of close contests and lost them so a bounce here or there and their record could be better then 7-8. Of course when scoring and allowing 64 points there are bound to be close games and a boost in offense would help. That didn't happen in Friday's 68-64 loss to visiting Quinnipiac with 40% shooting negating 16 more looks at the basket. The Bobcats connected at 47% and held a 12-5 advantage at the stripe to defeat a Hawks team that they seem to beat regularly. Justin Robinson paced Monmouth with 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists while Andrew Nicholas tossed in 13 points. Collin Stewart and Brice Kofane followed with 12 and nine points with eight players scoring overall.

The Rider Broncs might be flying under the radar a bit and the question is whether this team can continue to play well going forward. The Broncs have won six in a row and eight of nine and are playing better then their season averages that say opponents are outscored 65-64. Both ends of the floor were clicking in Saturday's 68-55 victory over visiting Saint Peter's where a 14 point first half lead stood up. The Peacocks were limited to less then 33% from the floor while Rider hit at 49% which came out to be six more baskets. Jimmie Taylor led a trio of double digit scorers with 15 points and five yanks on 5-10 shooting while the tandem of Matt Lopez and Zedric Sadler netted 14 points apiece on a combined 11-16 from the field. The Broncs went deep on the bench with a ten man rotation and each scored.
The Hawks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss. Monmouth are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. The Broncs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Rider are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. Rider is as hot as I can remember in recent years so we shall see if it continues because I'm just backing the team playing well...
