The Wright State State Raiders face off with the Cleveland State Vikings at the Nutter Center in Horizon action.
Although the Cleveland State Vikings are just 9-9 they have played some decent teams competively and appear to be a threat in the Horizon League. The Vikings kicked off the conference schedule at 3-0 before Valparaiso put an end to the good times with a 56-54 decision at home as a 5.5 point favorite. Although the Crusaders won the shooting battle by a 49%-36% margin the Vikings forced 19 turnovers and mustered nine more shots and four more makes at the line to remain close. Even though the Wright State Raiders score and allow around 68 points overall they score and defend as well as any team when winning. The trend continued with the Raiders getting strong performances at both ends of the floor in a 70-61 at Youngstown State as a 2.5 point favorite. WSU was lethargic in falling behind by nine at the break but dominated the action with a 45-27 second half run. The Raiders held the Penguins to under 34% from the floor while firing away at a hefty 56% which negated 13 more YSU attempts. JT Yoho pumped in a game high 19 points and hauled in nine rebounds on 7-11 shooting followed by a 15 point effort by Michael Karena. Chrishawn Hopkins and Reggie Arceneaux added 13 and ten points with the starters scoring all but ten points.
The Vikings are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. loss and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Cleveland State are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 road games. The Raiders are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Horizon League and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 Wednesday games. The road team has fared well in this match up but regardless I like the Raiders at small chalk...
