The Austin Peay Governors hope to begin a winning streak when the Tennessee State Tigers visit the Dunn Center.
The Tennessee State Tigers aren't the rugged team of years past that was always a threat in the Ohio Valley as graduation has put them in a complete rebuilding mode. The Tigers are being outscored 67-57 which are obviously not numbers condusive to winning and their 3-15 record says as much. TSU dropped their third straight in a 45-38 loss at SIU-Edwardsville with the Cougars coming back from a six point hole on the strength of a 30-17 second half run. SIUE was held to only 33% from the field but Tennessee State was unable to take advantage with 27.5% accuracy and 16 turnovers. Christian Mekowulu was the Tigers best player with 12 points and 12 rebounds followed by an eleven point, eight board effort from Darreon Reddick on 4-15. Six others were able to muster a total of 15 points.

The Austin Peay Governors are struggling to get the ship pointed in the right direction before it's too late. Things have not been going well with the 5-11 Governors getting outscored 71-65 with both ends of the floor having a hand in three consecutive defeats. AP is coming off of a 72-56 loss at Tennessee Tech in which they hung around until a 37-26 Golden Eagles run in the second half ended this. Even though Tennessee Tech sank shots at an adequate 40.7% they totaled 13 more looks thanks to the Governors 21 giveawaysand 38% marksmanship. Khalil Davis led a trio of double digit scorers with 14 points and ten rebounds on 4-7 from the field with Ed Dyson and and Josh Robinson adding 13 points apiece on combined 8-17 shooting. Chris Horton pulled in a game high ten rebounds but nobody else was able to provide scoring.
The Tigers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win and 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game. Tennessee State are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Governors are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games following three or more consecutive road games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 vs. Ohio Valley. Austin Peay are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. I don't know if I could stomach it if I bet this just to be honest...
