The Western Carolina Catamounts host the East Tennessee State Buccaneers at the Ramsey Center.
The East Tennessee State Buccaneers possess the top offense in the SoCon and they generally need every point that can be mustered because opposing attacks do plenty of damage too. The Buccaneers saw a three game winning streak come to an end in a 74-71 loss to visiting Chattanooga Saturday in overtime. ETSU defended the shot well with the Catamounts hitting at 36.5% but WCU was 14-38 on threes and sank five more free throws to offset the Buccaneers 45% marksmanship. Jalen Riley paced three double digit scorers with 18 points and five helpers on 7-19 shooting with the duo of Lester Wilson and Rashawn Rembert adding 15 and 14 points on a combined 12-20 from the floor while Petey McClain chipped in with nine.

The Western Carolina Catamounts are similar to their counterparts in that they need their offense to produce with around 72 points scored and allowed not leaving a lot of room for error. The Catmounts are off to a 3-1 start in the SoCon after downing North Carolina-Greensboro 82-72 on Saturday. WCU took an eleven point lead with them in to the locker room and held serve over the final 20 minutes. The Spartans struggled to find the shooting touch at 35% while the Catamounts sank half their looks including a 10-19 effort from long range. Mike Brown pumped in a game high 27 points and snagged seven boards on 8-12 with Rhett Harrelson and Torrion Brummitt netting 15 points apiece. Devin Peterson scored another 12 points with eight players scoring overall.
The Buccaneers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss and 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. ETSU are 20-7-1 ATS in their last 28 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. The Catamounts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Southern and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. WCU are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. This looks like a tough contest for ETSU on the road but one I think they have to win. I'd look at the over if offered...
