Injuries hurt the Siena Saints early on in 2014-15 but I'm not entirely sure what the real issue is as the team is struggling to defend and win. Neither happened in a 79-67 loss to visiting Fairfield on Sunday as a seven point favorite. The Stags took the lead at the half, fought off a rally and cruised to the win behind 55% shooting while the Saints countered with 48% marksmanship. The problem was the team didn't go deep on the bench and received just three points from the reserves. Evan Hymes paced four double digit scorers with 18 points on 6-8 shooting with Rob Poole right on his heels with 17 points on 6-10. Lavon Long tossed in 14 points and snagged six boards while Javion Ogunyemi rounded out the scoring with 12 points on 6-8 from the floor.

The Canisius Golden Griffins just can't kick start their offense which is averaging 64 points which really strains a defense that is giving up 62 points. Nothing has been going favorably for the Golden Griffins who have dropped three of four after a 79-76 loss at MAAC heavyweight Iona. Canisius held a 50.8%-44% shooting advantage but were outscored 15-5 at the charity stripe which was the deciding stat in a tight contest. A balanced Canisius offense received 16 points from Zach Lewis with Jermaine Crumpton next in line with 13 points. Josiah Heath scored ten while Jeremiah Williams, Adam Weir and Jan Grzelinski combined for 26 points. The Golden Griffins went nine deep with each finding the scoring column to hang with the big offense of the Gaels.
The Saints are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss. Siena are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a double-digit loss at home and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Golden Griffins are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. Canisius are 22-10 ATS in their last 32 Friday games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games. I'll start by saying Siena is extremely disappointing and I have sworn off their games because they will quit if down. I just think this is too many points if Rob Poole is 100%...
