The Utah Utes will travel to the McKale Center to take on the Arizona Wildcats this Saturday night in College Basketball action.

The Utah Utes won their 7th straight game and improved to 14-2 (4-0 Pac-12) on the season after defeating the Arizona State Wildcats 76-59 this past Thursday. Utah shot 53.7% from the field and 52.9% (9-17) from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Utes was Delon Wright who had 21 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Utah is currently ranked 11th in the RPI Standings and have played the 34th ranked SOS. On the season, the Utes have been led by Delon Wright (15.3 ppg on 55.5% shooting, 4.5 rpg, 5.7 apg, 2.4 spg) and Jakob Poeltl (9.3 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.0 bpg). Offensively, Utah is averaging 75.8 ppg (ranked 32nd) on 50.3% shooting (ranked 6th). The Utes average 7.3 three-pointers per game (ranked 79th) on 40.5% shooting (ranked 14th). Defensively, Utah is holding their opponents to an average of 55.3 ppg (ranked 10th) on 36.6% shooting (ranked 10th). The Utes are averaging 5.3 bpg (ranked 26th). Utah is averaging 37.75 total rpg (ranked 61st) and has a rebound margin of 8.7 (ranked 13th).

Arizona Wildcats vs. Utah Utes - 1/17/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Arizona Wildcats rebound from their shocking loss at Oregon State to defeat the Colorado Buffaloes 68-54 to improve to 15-2 (3-1 Pac-12) on the season. Arizona shot 78.9% (15-19) from the free-throw line and outrebounded Colorado by a 41-26 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Stanley Johnson who had 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. Arizona is currently ranked 10th in the RPI Standings and has played the 65th ranked SOS. On the season, the Wildcats have been led by Stanley Johnson (14.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.6 spg) and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (11.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.1 bpg). Offensively, Arizona is averaging 74.6 ppg (ranked 40th) on 48.9% shooting (ranked 16th). The Wildcats average 14.5 apg (ranked 81st) and have a 1.24 assist/turnover ratio (ranked 54th). Defensively, Arizona is holding their opponents to an average of 59.2 ppg (ranked 32nd) on 39.5% shooting (ranked 65th). The Wildcats have a 2.8 turnover margin (ranked 35th) and a 7.0 rebound margin (ranked 25th). Arizona is grabbing an average of 26.59 defensive rpg (ranked 43rd) and 36.29 total rpg (ranked 111th).

The Utes are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 38-14-2 ATS in their last 54 games overall. The Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games however, just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

Arizona rebounded from their loss at Oregon State, but I don’t think their 14 point victory at home against Colorado was that impressive considering that the Buffaloes were without Josh Scott and Xavier Johnson. Utah is playing arguably the best basketball in the country right now and I see Utah’s defensive causing Arizona all sorts of trouble. I’m taking Utah and the points in this one but wouldn’t be surprised to Utah come away with a victory in this one.
