The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners welcome CUSA rival the Texas El Paso Miners to town in Saturday action.
The Texas El Paso Miners have ability at both ends of the floor which should serve them well with the conference slate about to get hot and heavy. The Miners have taken advantage of an easy schedule to go 3-1 in the CUSA after routing Southern Mississippi 74-40 as a 17.5 point favorite. This was over soon after the opening tip with UTEP taking a commanding 40-15 lead after 20 minutes and cruising the rest of the way. The Golden Eagles were held to under 31% while the Miners didn't miss at 57% inclding a 10-20 effort from long distance. Vince Hunter gave the offense 14 points and eight boards with CJ Cooper and Omega Harris netting 12 and ten points. The trio of Cedrick Lang, Julian Washburn and Eavin Morris Jr. scored eight points apiece with Matt Willms tossed in nine.

The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners pack a punch at the offensive end of the floor at 73 points but the issue is defense where opponents are averaging 71 points which makes it tough to win versus some of the bigger names in the conference. The Roadrunners took an early season breather from the league schedule and enjoyed an easy 68-43 victory at Texas-Pan American on Monday. UTSA broke open a competitive game with a 39-20 second half burst as the Broncs were limited to 35% shooting and gave the ball away 18 times. The 46.6% shooting Roadrunners turned that in to ten more looks and converted 9-19 from distance to win going away. Jeromie Hill led all scorers with 18 points and seven boards followed by Ryan Bowie's 15 point effort. Kaj-Bjorn Sherman was next in line with 14 points and nine rebounds with Keon Lewis netting 12.
The Miners are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 road games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a SU win of more than 20 points. UTEP are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. win and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win. The Roadrunners are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. UTSA are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 Saturday games and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win. I think the Miners win big if they play well but I don't see this as a slam dunk...
