The Clemson Tigers welcome the Florida State Seminoles to Littlejohn Coliseum on Monday night.
In season's past the Florida State Seminoles have been defensive demons but they don't have that same intensity and need both ends of the floor to play well in order to win. Instead the exact opposite has happened in three consecutive defeats that was capped off by Saturday's 72-63 loss to visiting North Carolina State. The Wolpack built a 12 point lead by intermission and held serve the rest of the way behind 44% shooting and ten more shots to outdistance the Seminoles 37% accuracy with a 21-12 edge at the stripe not enough to match NC State's eight more field goals. Montay Brandon was the go to scorer with a game high 20 points on 6-7 shooting with a 15 point, five pull and five assist effort from Xavier Rathan-Mayes next in line. Devon Bookert tossed in eleven points but the Noles needed a few others to step up.

The defensive minded Clemson Tigers have plenty of stopping power but need some help putting the ball in the basket which has this team on the outside looking in at an extremely tough ACC. The Tigers had enough scoring punch in a 66-53 victory versus Syracuse on Saturday as they jumped to a surprising 21 point lead and coasted the rest of the way. The Orange couldn't find the offensive groove at 36.8% shooting which made the Tigers 45% accuracy and 8-2 edge on threes a winning combination. Donte Gratham led three double digit scorers with 16 points on 6-12 from the floor with four makes from distance followed by the tandem of Jaron Blossumgame and Rod Hall with 15 points each with Blossumgame hauling in 12 rebounds and Hall posting five assists. Landry Nnoko and Jordan Roper combined for 15 points as Clemson simply made more shots in the half court.
The Seminoles are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. FSU are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Tigers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while going 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. Clemson looks like the choice here with their defense but I think the line is about right...
